FOUR INDIVIDUAL HARDWARE SERVERS in 1U

ECOserver model EHA is a unique proposition, offering 4 powerful servers in a 1U housing. Each server may manage one or two hard drives, each server operates independently from the other servers and it is therefore possible to install multiple and various operating systems on each of the four servers.

 

ECOserver model EHA – remarkable energy savings!

The energy consumption of this hardware is approximately 120 Watts for a total of 4 servers – only 30 Watts per server. This is realized by using an industrial grade power supply with a very high output, which provides power for all 4 servers. The ventilator fans are tuned to the low development of heat of the processors, with optimal displacement of air, against the lowest energy consumption possible.

 

 

Connections

Each server has a USB connection at the back, for the connection of a keyboard, mouse or USB driver. Besides this, there are a standard VGA connection and two network ports of 1 Gb each. The unit is powered by 230 V AC as standard, but other voltage versions are available..

 

Management
Usually a server can be re-booted remotely by a Service processor or a switch mode power supply (PDU). With a 4-in-1 solution it is not possible to switch via a PDU, the motherboard that is used has no IPMI or other service processor. ECOserver has developed a module in-house, which makes it possible to reboot any one of the four servers via a web interface, with password security if required. Companies that wish to link to their own management system may adapt the software easily.

Practice shows that use of an ECOserver EHA provides a minimum saving on energy costs of 400 euros per year, over and above the saving on rental costs as less rack space is required. The unique configuration of four discrete hardware servers in a single 1U chassis offers absolute choice of operating methods, with either independent applications, mutual redundancy or mini-cloud set-ups equally well served.
