ECOserver model EIM is a very powerful, compact 19-inch server. With its 40 cm depth it will fit into any 19-inch cabinet. Combined with virtualization software or Small Business Server this makes for an excellent solution for SMEs. The height of the chassis will allow for 2 XEON processors. ECOserver model EIM can contain a RAID controller with six 3.5 inch disks, turning it into a compact high-end server. The rear panel has room for 7 expansion cards.

ECOserver model EIM was developed with two specific aims:

To fit into any rack, not just big server racks.

The cooling fan is a low energy type, though there is an option to fit a powerful additional ventilation fan and/or a disc cooling fan for harsh or especially hot environments. The power supply is 80plus certified, meaning that the heat generated is as low as possible. Where an ECOserver model EIM is to be used as a Virtualization server (for instance for VMware, Hyper-V or XEN) we will use Low Power consuming processors from Intel.

 

Physical design

Supplied in black without the ECOserver logo with DVD or with a white front and the ECOserver logo and DVD. Other colours and your own logo can be supplied upon request.

General Information

 

ECOserver Model EIM is a universal 4U-high 19-inch server that combines five key properties:

• energy efficient, only 45W;

• compact, depth only 40 cm;

• low noise and heat levels;

• twin processor option;

• seven expansion slots.

Specific properties

 

ECOserver Model EIM is equipped with the latest generation Intel® server motherboards with energy saving processors from the Intel® XEON® range. It can contain two processors and is provided with an IPMI service processor to monitor and manage vital server functions. The 4U 19 inch chassis can contain up to 8 HDD, SAS and/or SATA so a high internal storage capacity is available. On average it consumes 45 Watt so substantial savings can be made on energy costs. Model EIM is available in several versions. Up to 7 cards, PCI or PCI-e, can be placed at the back of the server. The front panel can be delivered in black (with or without CD/DVD access) or white (with CD/DVD access).
